Voting takings place on August 21st on whether Ilminster Town councillors get more say over the development and evolution of the town, or whether the majority of the changes are approved at county level (how it sits currently).

Ilminster town council need to site and build 839 new homes by 2040, this has been dictated by Whitehall & county. The vote (if approved) allows the town council to protect certain areas and decide where these homes will be built, the standard they should be built to, as well as get additional funding from the developers for reinvestment directly into the town.
